It has been announced that the Ilkeston Family Practice and GP Walk In Centre, based at Ilkeston Community Hospital, will close on 28 February 2013.
More than 1,500 people from across Ilkeston will lose their GP, thousands more will lose access to the Walk In Centre, which is the only service of this type within the area. In addition, 14 people will lose their job.
This is another terrible blow to the services offered by Ilkeston Community Hospital, and many are saying another nail in the coffin for the hospital.
The NHS have carried out no consultation with those affected, so we need to get together, and fight back. We need to show that they cannot just remove our services, that we are paying taxes for. By signing this petition, you are supporting the cause, and saying 'NO' to the closure of this essential service for thousands of people within Ilkeston and the surrounding area.

This is ridiculous. Where are we supposed to go now? The hospital is already stretched thin enough without closing more services.
