Give your support to save Bitterne NHS Walk-In Centre.

The BWIC supports the east side of Southampton and beyond with a walk-in health service for those who cannot get appointments to see their doctors.

This is a vital service, especially for the elderly, young families and those without transport.

We need to end cuts and privatisation of the NHS and ensure the needs of our communities are met with adequate GP services, a fully operational local Walk-In Centre, as well as nursing care in the community.

Where will you go, when you can't see your GP?

The Bitterne Walk-In Centre. Let's keep it open!

The days are long and the burnout is real but we are nearing two hundred and fifty signatures. We need to hit this target right now to force a response from the board.

Seeing this kind of traction is exhausting but it proves that people around here are finally done with being ignored. This struggle is far from over yet this momentum keeps me going when I feel like giving up.

The emails I receive from you all about your experiences at the center are heavy to read but they remind me exactly why this fight is necessary. I am exhausted by the constant cycle of defending services that should be protected by default. We are still pushing forward even though it feels like we are shouting into the void.

This is a vital service for those in the East of the City. Two buses to get to a walk-in centre in West is stupid. Keep it open or get GP surgeries open 24/7 on East side.

The staff at bitterne walk in centre saved my grandads life after promptly recognising he was having a heart attack. Although he has passed away now he was was always very great full for the extra time he had and so were we.

I really think we need to keep this because it's very useful, very near to where I live and it helps me out alot because I'm also a diabetic. We can't keep losing what we all really need.

This has been a vital service for me in times of need with my two children, aged 10 and 6. My doctors surgery never has enough nurses to see us for last minute accidents or illnesses and these are not needy of a hospital trip so the walk in centre is always a useful service and first option for us.

I've needed this centre several times over the past 20 months since my son was born, to close this and have the only alternative to A&E at the general the west of the Itchen is unacceptable. Not all of Southampton residents live west of the Itchen.

If this place is closed think of the extra pressure on A&E and the ambulance service . Used the centre recently and was rightly diagnosed with a condition and admitted straight away to hospital ward.

Please let me know when meetings are happening. I can't always make it but will try.

This centre is really needed. If it cant in the health - keep it local- but having to rely on hospital emergency & pharmacys - just will not do the job. Pharmacys not sufficiently trained for if things are complicated & the hospital too difficult for many to get to - eg elderly physically disables special needs - too weak from illness etc.
