Kirklees Council are considering axing the free town centre bus service which benefits so many residents in Huddersfield. Residents and visitors who come into town not only to get their everyday essentials and but to enjoy spending time and money in the local town centre.

Huddersfield Partnership (Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership - HTCPL) is a not-for-profit organisation that is committed to improving the viability and vibrancy of Huddersfield Town Centre. We see the free town centre bus as a valuable asset to the town and therefore want to fight to keep it!

Please help us in supporting our town centre and the many people that benefit from such an invaluable service.

Many Thanks

Huddersfield Partnership

The level of public response to this campaign indicates how essential the free town bus remains for our community. We are currently preparing to present this collective feedback to the council members who will decide the future of the service.

We have a lot of older people who have had to work hard for their money and need to spend it carefully so cannot afford a taxi. This bus service helps them to get around town with their shopping. keep the useful services and axe some of the minority service s until the town is in a better position.

The Free Town Bus is essential to Huddersfield Town Centre. It helps local people and visitors get from part of the town centre to the other. I used it regularly and I believe it is popular with elderly people and shoppers. It connects different parts of the town centre. It encourages tourists to visit different parts of the town centre, therefore bringing in revenue for local businesses.

This isn an extremely useful and vital asset to the city of Huddersfield and its citizens. Instead of closing of roads and creating more chaos spend the money on this much loved and needed community asset.
