Many programs have had to cut programs due to Covid-19. Anyhow the time to cancel these two program was last year, during the summer, which would at least gives student athletes the time to make the choices necessary to continue there athletic careers if they please. Instead of having them to commit to a year full of Covid restrictions just to have their hard work to be wasted on a program with no future to be proud of as an alumni of the college.

We loved going to the Men's lacrosse games and watching these bright men learn to play with one another. The same opportunity should be available for future students at the very least

As an alum of this program, I wish for anyone who reads this to that this was a highly influential program in my life. I am the man and church leader I am today because of the men I met and encouraged me though Houghton Lax.

Hopefully the Board, assigned to oversee the integrity of how Houghton Administration behaves, will genuinely self-reflect when they meet in February on what's best for these players, coaches and the college overall. It might also be beneficial for the college to share its overall Strategic Plan so that other programs are not caught off guard in the future.
Let's give our student athletes and coaches an opportunity to build on what's been accomplished.
