The potential loss of the town hall as a shared public space and a community facility would pose the biggest threat to the quality of life in Crouch End. If the town hall with its current accessible public space space is sold to an unsympathetic developer we would effectively have the largest truly communal space being turned into a gated facility for the new apartment inhabitants who want to come and enjoy Crouch End's unique "village life" ...probably the best community in North London. There has been around seven gated apartments and houses developed in Crouch End over the last decade but so far they are mostly hidden from view and have not deprived us of shared space.

I have lived in Crouch End for 51 years. I remember going to my cousin's wedding and theatre shows there. It needs to be our Town Hall

Keeping this building under protection of the community is the right thing to do.

Over the years it the neglect of Hornsey Town Hall has been a disgrace. To sell it to the detriment of the Crouch End community is a further disgrace. No doubt any sale proceeds will go to give extra community services to the Tottenham area.

Maybe Jeremy Corbyn should be approached to support this community lead campaign?

Crouch End is a thriving community and the Hornsey Town Hall is its heart. I've been to many events here over the last few years and know people who are renting the office space. Mid-August I went to a music event there - big band in the main hall, disco in the basement, food being cooked outside - the buzz was amazing. I spoke to many people who had never been there but were fairly local and were amazed that the Council are planning to sell it off. They loved it as place to gather and enjoy cultural experiences. We MUST keep it in the community.

This area is such a focal point in Crouch End. Both the Building and Square are underused , perhaps a competition could unveil some good ideas for its future.

This property must be transferred into the community ownership for the local people to decide its use.

It was a sad loss for the community when the council refused to listen to significant public opinion last time. I hope the same mistake won't be made again.

This issue has been going on for years and years it's about time Haringey Council supported Crouch End residents rather than falling over backwards to keep developers happy.

Our much loved Town hall is an important central hub within the area and should stay for community use, not for sale to the highest bidder regardless of the impact upon the area.

This amazing building must be saved for community use some business use & even council offices. It should have a preservation order on it - the original features need to be preserved. How has it been allowed to become so run down?? M J Parker

We have the right to preserve our heritage, pass it on to future generations and save it from vandals.

Yet again the Council are letting the community down. This unique building has been fought for, plans have been drawn up, ideas have been put on the table for this centre of the community but yet again, the Council's only concern is their purse-string and NOT for the people.

An asset too good to lose. A big development would totally change the character of the area and not in a good way.
