This town always prided itself on saving anything historic. Why have things changed recently? I have 5 generations that went to Hudson schools. The elementary school was a tragedy, I thought the city would see their error and not do the same again. It seems like they're embarrassed of its past people. This city wouldn't be what it is if we didn't have the people who lived here all their lives.

Three of my thirteen years attending Hudson city schools were spent in the holloed halls of the Hudson Middle School. I then spent another twenty years working for Hudson inside this beautiful architectural treasure. Demolishing this landmark like so much garbage is quite repugnantly disgraceful &for it to be suggested that this will be an important step forward for Hudson’s future is beyond ridicules. What of our history, maybe the Hudson school board & the superintendent forgot that if you don’t learn from history you’re doomed to repeat it.

Why destroy our last remaining historic school building? Please consider at least keeping the original building. It would be such a shame to lose such a part of history. Keep the authenticity of the downtown village.

Better to turn it into a community center. You've already razed Hudson Elementary. Please don't do this again for no benefit to the community. Class of 1976.

This building is one of the last remaining public buildings in our historic district that bring value and beauty to our streetscape. I would actually like to see the limestone staircase returned to the front.

Keep the historic school! Use it for offices if parents don't want their children attending a fine, old tradition!

Please DO NOT tear down the historic 1927 Hudson High/Middle School. Not only does it hold memories, but it's architecture cannot be matched. Just look at the other school buildings, their architecture fails to compare. Even the Hudson Library, does not fully compare. Hudson is unique because of its historic buildings, and the BOE wanting to tear this down, jeopardizes not only the homeowners around the school, but everyone in town. We need to preserve the history in this town, and teach the next generation to appreciate the old. We all know that old buildings are built better than new buildings with the proper care and maintenance. Let’s teach our children this too. Possibly even have a course on the appreciation of historic architecture in their town. Residents who live in the historic district have to abide by strict rules for their homes, I feel the school should too. If everyone in the historic district tore down their historic homes and build new homes, then Hudson would not be Hudson anymore. When people come to Hudson to live, shop or dine in the restaurants, they are coming for the cute quaint feeling that they cannot find in other towns. Every building counts. We already lost the historic "Old 3rd Grade Building," we cannot afford to lose the last historic school in town. Learn from other towns and WRA, who have preserved their buildings, and modernized the insides.

That's what make Hudson such a nice town, the clock tower, downtown and the overall classic feeling. It would be a shame if it was torn down.

We need to think out of the box! I feel we can get creative and accomplish what we need to provide the best education for Hudson kids while preserving the landscape that has kept Hudson from becoming "Anywhere, USA." Our historic buildings have been treasured for many generations...we can't let that go!
