Keep our Hudson High Alive!

This is more than just brick and mortar to most people in Hudson. This building is not simply walls and floor. The number of people that have walked the halls here, from the old High School days to the current state as the Middle School, countless people have passed through this school and gone on to make their community, nation, and world a better place to be. It speaks to a legacy of commitment, a tradition of excellence, and to the preservation of history in the City of Hudson. Within this building lives a theatre that rivals some of the greatest stages ever made, beautiful open halls, gorgeous plaster molding and masonry, and much more which makes walking through the doors like taking a trip back in time. To do anything to the original 1927 building would be sinful. Restore it. Update it. But don't allow our last remaining historical school to die in the name of "shiny new".

The school is located in the village which is historic and charming. A modern school would ruin the neighborhood. Incorporate the old design into new.
Shame on you- the school board for your tacky plans.

We haven't gotten over or forgiven our other beloved school being torn down. And now you're looking to do it again. Please listen to the people pleading to you not to do this. Save our beloved school. I went K-12 in Hudson schools with wonderful memories.

It's disappointing that the original school on Oviatt Street is gone. It would be a shame to also lose the original portion of the current Middle School.

Hudson is known for its historic character and support of quality education. If this building is demolished, there will be no structure left speaking to the legacy of support for quality schools in Hudson and to the way this building fits into the layout of Oviatt St.

Grew up in Hudson (64 Aurora Street) - 1949 to 1962 - and attended this school when it was also the high school. Classic building that the architects should be able to design into whatever new plan is emerging.

I lived in Hudson from 1950 to 1966, my parents, John & Dorothy Jackson, were founding members of the Hudson Heritage Association and active people in many of Hudson's clubs and the Hudson Players ..... Because of this and these role models of mine, I learned early the importance of one's town's history and its historical buildings .... We lived in one such house in town .... Now, hearing that there is a possibility that people of Hudson would tear down one of the MOST historic buildings in the old town not only makes me angry but makes me wonder where the integrity of my hometown is these days .... I urge you to leave this building up for posterity and so that all those who come to our town through the years can enjoy this incredible architecture ..... It would be criminal to tear this building down, where is your sense of history ??

I graduated from Hudson high. I recently took my kids there as we walked through town, the building was so beautiful. It is part of the history of the town. Please don't destroy that part of history.
