The 1935 Firgrove School building is the oldest educational structure on South Hill. It has served the community well for the past three-quarters of a century.

Built in the midst of the Great Depression, South Hill Community members united to invest in the future. They put children first by giving them the best learning environment possible.

We believe that history matters! We value our local history and we are inspired by the strengths of the former residents of South Hill.

We believe that saving this historic building could be the beginning of “rejuvenating community spirit and pride” on South Hill.

Please help us save the old Firgrove Elementary School Building. Be a champion for South Hill children—a champion for the South Hill Community.

I am truly stunned by the level of care people have shown for this old building. This momentum belongs entirely to the community members who decided that Firgrove is worth saving.

We don’t have a lot of opportunities to preserve history on South Hill. Saving the original Firgrove building would be an excellent gesture in letting South Hill know that PSD values all of its history.

Firgrove School is a historic jewel hidden in the strip malls and asphalt of south hill Puyallup. I attended kindergarten through 6th grade at Firgrove. I would love to see the historic school as a pioneer museum/educational facility

I went to school there, my kid went to school there. I've worked there. It's a historical part of Puyallup. They save meeker mansion and other historical building why not this one? All they're going to do is sell it to a developer and they will build more useless businesses or parking lots that meridian dont need.

I went to kindergarten in the old 1935 building. I also learned to read in that building! My teacher, Mrs. Husbands took small groups of students to a room in that building and introduced us to "Dick and Jane". A light came on! I will never forget that moment! One of the most important moments of my life that shaped the rest of my life!!

I started kindergarten here all the way though 6th grade, and my children started school here building more memories to share in our history. Please leave this alone it is historical.
