I think we need to keep this building for retail space and keep Fremont's downtown historic and quaint.

Please don't sell old schwesers bldg to corrections. Keep it as the beautiful retail spot it has been and we have enjoyed!!!!! It is a city landmark.

There is a place for everything, and with the direction downtown Fremont is headed, this is not the place for a corrections facility.

I've lived in Fremont on and off for a few years - I recently graduated from Midland University. Fremont has it's perks but for the most part it feels outdated and sad. Doing this won't reverse that process, it will speed it up.

The most our city thinks the people can aspire to are chicken plants and drug offices. Telling, isn't it?

Personally knowing Mr & Mrs Schweser, one can't help but think Fred Schweser would want to keep his building as a historic part of downtown Fremont. The store seems to be set up where it could run several small retail / boutique businesses. Like some you find in Omaha Downtown Old Market area. Can't keep it local when the town has no place to do so!
Downtown Fremont is known as the Historic part of town ... Let's keep it that way.

There are far better locations for drug court. Downtown is a business district.

Criminals, even those on probation or parole, should not be hanging around downtown. These people are not shoppers as much as potential shoplifters.

Fremont is my home town and even though I left for a few years I have recently moved back and love what has changed and improved in Historic Downtown and this is not a good place for this type of facility. Please keep the Historic Downtown moving in the right direction.

Downtown Fremont needs to stay a Historic District. We are know all over for this and we need to keep this area of Fremont Historic. Don't loose something that we can preserve for generations the history of Fremont Nebraska!!!

This is ludicrous. Why is God's name would you do such a thing? This is pathetic, even by Fremont's standards. I can only sincerely hope to move quickly, if such a thing gets passed.
