This school deserves to stay. So many amazing teachers work there and don’t deserve to lose their jobs.

The plan sounds very immature and seems to be focusing only on the business aspect of running schools, but does not take into account effective teaching, community, and traffic aspects (in the minimum) into account. The following are the possible unfortunate outcomes:
1. Elementary students go to schools away from their communities (given the lack of bus drivers too!),
2. Impact of lack of busses or ineffective scheduling of busses due to driver shortage on parent schedules,
3. Impact of littlest students having to take schools busses while routes are taking twice as long in the recent years,
4. 5 year olds go to school with middle schoolers,
5. Already busy school traffic around many of these proposed merger schools turn into an even bigger nightmare,
6. Big schools, loss of close communication between school and parents,
7. Big classrooms, less attention per student,
Decreased student success, especially due to the need of more attention per student in many of those neighborhood schools mentioned,
8. More students go to Charter schools, diverting the tax/city money in the hands of educators and education system we cannot even control. Why not better our schools instead.

Charter schools are still Public schools, and not any better, they just appear to be more effective, because they can get away with admitting who they want...because of the Chater! Not right! What if All schools could select their students...think about that!

I attended Holiday Hill on the first day it opened. My children attended and so did my grandchildren. Do not close this great school for our Glynlea Holiday Hill and Grove Park students. It has the best teachers, administrative staff and students that receive a A+ education.

This is a wonderful school with neighborhood support. Three generations of my family have attended this school. The principle and the entire staff are wonderful and really care for the students.

I attended Holiday Hill from 1967 through 1972. It was a great school then and it's a great school now. It serves three of Jacksonville's greatest neighborhoods which happen to be some of the few in Jacksonville where young families can afford to live now. Please do NOT close this school.

All three of my children went there and have since gone on to Landon and LaVilla and without Holiday Hill that would not have been possible. Holiday Hill was not only a stepping stone for middle school and their future, but we have also remained close with not only schoolmates but fellow parents as well. The faculty at Holiday Hill is absolutely wonderful, and have taken care of my children, all with different situations they have succeeded beyond belief. I truly believe that losing Holiday Hill, Elementary school would be detrimental to a lot of local families and their children.
