Please don't close down Holiday Hill, my son currently attends in the first grade and has been attending since kindergarten. He is in the magnet program to attend holiday hill because our neighborhood school is terrible. I also attended this school in the fourth and fifth grade and it was the BEST school hands down I attended. My son loves this school very much and it would truly be sad to see such an incredible school close down.

Our children thrived at HHE, and went on to successful school careers at James Weldon and Stanton. Losing this feeder school would have significant downstream impact to these highly challenging secondary schools. I think those schools would start to decline academically and lose their national credibility if you begin devaluing and removing the feeder schools. And those schools are a important feather in the cap for DCPS, but it all starts in elementary at places like HHE.

I worked at Holiday Hill School for 20 years and our 3 sons all went there. Best neighborhood school in Jacksonville. Please don’t take our school away.

This school is a multi-generational school in a very close knit neighborhood. The closure of this school would be devastating to this community!
