Recent events on the island demonstrate how much we need not just Debbie Sturidge, but also additional support.

It is essential that we retain PC Debbie Surridge because of her knowledge of the island and residents and the reassurances her presence gives.

There appears to be more crime on Hayling Island not less so we need Officers who know the area and the community. If there is less police cover then crime will no doubt increase.

Debbie has done so much for residents and the youth on Hayling Island. She knows many of them and is on first name terms with them. That counts for so much in our community

There has been an increase in crimes on Hayling recently not a decline and the trend is not improving. Now is not the time to implement a reduction in Police Officers. Apologies don't bring back lives or lessen the disruption law breakers create!

I am married to a retiredPoliceman so perhaps more aware of what the cuts REALLY mean to every citizen! PCSOs are not Police persons and do not have the equivalent powers of the Police. We pay taxes on Hayling & contribute to the cost of Police Services so we should have their services. As an island to which access has been closed recently through weather conditions. Residents of Hayling need a proper police presence despite the weather. Debbie Surridge is a Police presence on Hayling with a huge local knowledge & wishes to be there. We need our own police presence. Regardless of their commitment PCSOs are not equivalent to police men or women!

When I come to visit Hauling Island I want to feel confident in the local constabulary's knowledge of the island.

We do need a permanent police presence on the Island to ensure rapid reaction to local incidents and emergencies. Also provides an important Community service.
