Keep our island Police Officer

Hayling needs a police officer.

I beleave this to be a false economy, a short term fix to save money.

I think I can understand the financial problems facing the Police but Hayling Island is not an easy place to Police from the mainland and really does need a permanent official police presence

Debbie is abrilliant PC who goes well beyond her duties. I am sure that this is why Hayling has a low crime rate, because she does so much to support, defer and help people. I have seen at first hand how she really gets to the nub of the problem and sees it through with her brilliant ability to know what needs doing and gets on with it. hayling will be a lesser place for troubled families without her work, which no doubt, isn't seen by most people.

Hayling Island needs a police presence at all times. It makes a mockery of the following statement of Police & Crime Commissioner for Hampshire website. Paying for your policing – budget for 2017/18 The precept decision for 2017/18 takes into account both the immediate and medium term resourcing requirements that enable Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth to be safer now and in the future. Following consultation an increase of 3.12% per year, in the policing element of the precept has been set by the Commissioner for 2017/18. For a Band D resident this equates to an additional £5 a year or 10p a week. This increase generates an extra £3.3 million for Hampshire Constabulary; it means current level of funding from central government is protected, allows the current level of neighbourhood policing to be maintained and will enable some further enhancements and modernisation to police services. EVIDENTLY NOT ON HAYLING

Having spent over 20 years on Hayling, and my wife over 60 years. We both feel threatened by criminals in our local area and have witnessed several in incidents . We are now very reluctant to venture out at night, because any police help is so far away . We need local support .

Inadequate police presence on Hayling

We need more officers 24/7. As life is getting out of hand on this island.

It is frighteningly short-sighted to further reduce Hayling's allocation to 1 Police Officer.

We Now have almost uncontrolled building which means more people that need protection so now we will lose that protection and one Road on the Island that is heavily congested resulting in a Police vehicle being held up whilst trying to get on the Island. We have got to be more active when it comes to elections so we get service for our Rates. they are just inviting more criminals onto our once secure community.

The thousands on this island pay there taxes and therefore require the presence of what they contributing to. No doubt when something really bad occurs I bet we will get a police presence , albeit too late to make the difference when they are needed.

Debbie is the best PC Hayling has ever had. Her drive, determination and compassion is amazing?

We need police officers on the beat who know us and the area we live in.

Debbie has done a lot to help the youngsters on Hayling with climbing wall & play park so hopefully Alan Mak will do something to save her job?

Debra has such commitment to everyone on Hayling and has achieved a lot for the Island. We really need her to stay!
