It is disgusting to think of any town or viage without public amenities, this government and Council are putting us back into the dark ages. Added to which Haslemere and surrounding areas are a tourist attraction region and adequate toilet facilities are essential.

Haslemere is being promoted as a gateway to the South Downs National Park and trying to attract tourists. We need public conveniences for the benefit of visitors and local residents.

Public and accessible toilets are essential for everyone.
Local families , walkers and visitors all need this facility.
Do we want desperate people peeing in the bushes round the carpark? The money from car parking can be used for a vital facility.
Do we want third world standards here?

They won't need more parking spaces, as visitors coming to this beautiful town won't want to come a second time without such an essential facility as public toilets. Total madness and SO short sighted.

Simply disgraceful that a town such as Haslemere should not have any public toilets! What are WBC thinking of ? Visitors and residents alike use them (though maintenance is sometimes an issue). Since there is already a collector employed to empty the Pay and Display machines in the car park, would it not be feasible (if absolutely necessary) to instal payment machines in the toilets ? would be very unpopular but better than not having any facilities at all !

I use this facility often and would sometimes find myself embarrassed if it were to be closed. A few extra parking spaces will make very little difference.

Haslemere - a large number of elderly men, dodgy prostates, no toilets, spells disaster. Maybe better to shop in Petersfield instead. Haslemere Town Council please take a leaf out of Fernhurst Parish Council's book who apparently took their loos over from Chichester District Council. If Waverley cannot support the town then HTC should.

The public toilets in Haslemere Car Park should remain open because they are used regularly by Haslemere people and visitors from the elderly to the very young. If they are closed what are they to use?

This is a bad idea; Haslemere is far too busy not to have a public toilet in the centre of town. Tourists would expect and need one there.

As an elderly person on furosamide where do WBC suggest I go when I need to go while in town? Will we be back to the continental habit of peeing against a convenient wall?

As someone who has had prostate cancer, I have often had a very urgent need to use the urinal facilities despite living only a few hundred metres away. The prospect of trying to somewhere else quickly fills me with dread.

It is totally unreasonable to close the only public facilities in Haslemere. The town is trying to promote itself as a thriving community and an attractive place to visit yet some feel that's we should offer no relief to our own inhabitants and to visitors. How short sighted can you get !

It is flawed reasoning to think car parking serves the community better than a public toilet. More parking may bring in more cash for the Council but a public toilet serves the needs of the community more and the community should be the Council's priority.
