As Haslemere is full of elderly folk who often cannot contain their need to go to the lavatory, and I am often in that category, it is essential to provide public lavatories, preferably open 24/7. So I strongly support the petition to keep them open.

These toilets are absolutely essential and if closed it will undoubtedly affect the wonderful reputation of the town for appealing to all age groups.

this is a well valued public facility,. and an iconic building which was built for a a purpose, and is frequently used and reasonably kept clean.I and many others have used it over 45 years of living in Halsemere. Maintaining self respect and Independence, especially as we all get older. is very important (so we stay out of the NHS etc). we do not wish to ask/request to use a cafe toilet (which older people tend not to use a anyway for teas/coffees because we get coffee with friends at home, it is less expensive. Our dignity and self respect is to be valued. Just because the WBC has over-run its budget (why??) this is no reason to
remove a necessary public facility form Haslemere.

Surely Haslemere Town Council can do a better job of looking after the local toilets if Waverley can't . Another way Waverley are trying to detract people from visiting the town if parking charges don't.

If these close alternatives need to be found... follow Richmond councils way that local restaurants cafes etc let people use their toilets even if not eating drinking in there. They put up blue toilet sign in their windows.

Whilst I understand the need to save money, removing public facilities is the wrong way to achieve this. If necessary, please rethink!

They shut the one at top of way hill few years ago now these it's ridiculous it's just just encouraging people to break the law by doing it behind buildings as most places will only let you use there facilities unless your a customer

Regularly use the Weaving House, opposite, (Haslemere Thespians), so we're regularly using these toilets!

It would be an absolute disgrace for the council to destroy the public toilets in order to make way for more income-generating parking spaces. There are now enough parking spaces within the town centre and no more are required/necessary.
I have been a resident for over 40 years (as a child and now an adult).

I have used these toilets with my children & it'd be a shame for them to close. Having the toilets where they are means that you don't need to leave the town & the shops to go to the toilet!
