SAVE HASLEMERE'S PUBLIC TOILETS

Disgraceful form the council. Please somebody tell them to stop, think and use some common sense for once on basic ammenities. Maybe they should open new toilets where the post office is, which they are incompetent to allow to close!

We cannot allow any more erosion of facilities in Haslemere which benefit the local residents, especially the elderly. We have already lost our household/garden waste collection on a Saturday morning in Weyhill, again another vital helpline for those who can't travel any distance. And on a totally different viewpoint, I am the Chair of the Haslemere Thespians; who have their set construction building opposite the toilets. We spend many long hours creating sets for panto and plays; both of which benefit the community. Having toilets opposite means we can work all day there, knowing we can relieve ourselves when we need to without having to walk miles or go home! Please Waverley, think about the bigger picture and stop being so short sighted.

There will always be another parking space but where else will visitors find a public toilet in the town? It would appear that the desire to raise even more parking income is blinding the Borough Council to their need to provide this important public facility.

EVERYONE needs toilets. Find your extra parking spaces elsewhere. Be humane to visitors and considerate of local businesses and attractions - people will not come to the town if there is not this facility.

These are the only public conveniences in Haslemere - even the big supermarket next door have to send their customers there as they do not have any facilities themselves.

For goodness sake have some common sense and retain these toilets.Haslemere is a tourist destination and visitors rely on these facilities. Villages such as Grayshott and Liphook have toilets so it beggars belief that a town like Haslemere is considering closing theirs.

Wrong to close a very useful facility

Please have some compassion for all who need these essential services. Where else do you think people will go?

An essential town centre amenity

Very important facility for lots of members of the community.

Keep the toilets open. What do we pay taxes for.

When we were viewing properties in the area we stopped at the car park in Haslemere & this was our 1st port of call before we looked around. Very essential.

It is understandable that in these times of difficulty and austerity that the council must try to save, or make, money where it can. However, this would seem to be shooting itself in the foot. It could easily leave the public in difficulties and the council might well have to spend more to clean up and address additional problems in the long run. Plus it could deter cash-paying visitors.

Waverley is again ignoring the needs of people in Haslemere

I cannot believe that a town of this size would want to close this valuable facility.

As a local Haslemere business I feel it is absolutely necessary to provide public toilets for the town. It is quite incredible that Waverley Council are putting cash generation ahead of service provision. Lack of public facilities will force people to use private business facilities without providing any revenue for their up keep. Are business rates should cover this along with all the other services which are so shockingly lacking. Please listen to people that know the situation rather than people that are not familiar with the workings of business or a small market town.

It is essential we keep these facilities available. If you want people to visit the town and encourage them to spend time here then you need to offer them the basic fundamental necessities.

Essential to keep this facility open. The additonal parking it would provide does not outweigh the essential service the loos provide!

Save the toilet. Helps many members of the community

This is a very important facility for the older folk of Haslemere and surrounding villages when they do their shopping.
