We the citizens of Pecos,Texas petetion the city to install a historical landmark outside of the George Washington Carver School.
We want to save and persevere our history. The historical landmark, George Washington Carver is currently being used by PBTISD as a storage facility. Now the new powers that be want to get rid of it. It does not have asbestos, it's not even a good 3000 square feet. If you are putting mobile homes on all the rest of the acres for teacher housing. Let's turn Carver into a computer lab for all new incoming teachers. Let their children know that not even 75 year ago only minorities could attend this school.
I demand that the City of Pecos acknowledge George Washington Carver as a historical landmark and use the facility to assist the teachers of PBTISD.

Save, revive, renew! Surely, with all the oil field money flowing through Pecos right now, historic facilities like this could be saved and utilized as something special.
No great memories from this school (6th grade), however, building it into a computer lab or the like would be beneficial. Why tear down something that could be used and has historical value?
Please don't tear it down. Many civil rights and African American leaders were given a wonderful educational beginning in this place. We often take out children to visit and share the history of Carver. Dr
My great grandmother Cora Mae Odie taught here and so did the Sadlers whom are my cousins thats are no longer here. Please do not get rid of this building. Great memories are in that place. Historical landmark for Pecos is what it is. It is more than just a building. Please hear our cry.
this building has a valuable piece of history in our community and would be an absolute disgrace to our fore fathers who made it the place it is to all the citizens who grew up in Pecos , Tx. You have already torn down the basketball court which was a tremendous part of hundreds of citizens in our community please don't destroy the only thing that's left in that community.

I attended this school and I definitely support designating G.W. Carver an historical landmark.

My mother Jimmie Pendleton and her brother R.L. Pendleton, Virlee Terry went to Carver School during segregation they graduated from that school, it would be nice to have it a historical landmark
