I am saddened by the decision of the Gustavus administration. Ignoring the history and heritage of the college and the state. These smart, hard working students should be held up as a model of what college student athlete should be.

In addition to having the Gustavus Adolphus administration reconsider, I would like to see the NCAA step up to the plate and figure out what needs to be done to preserve this great athletic tradition.

Thank you Michael Bourne for the data on how nordic could continue to serve as an excellent recruiting tool for Gustavus. All my Nordic x-c students have been excellent students as well as excellent athletes. Their work ethic has been off the charts. I would love to have more in my classes and as part of the community.

Such a beneficial and worthwhile program that is so inexpensive.

The reason I did not attend my second choice school (CSB) was because they cut their nordic ski program. I did not want to be a member of another poorly-funded team. By cutting the GAC nordic ski team your school will have lost a valuable asset of the athletic program, as well as the interest of many prospective student-athletes.

This is really bad news for the college. The Gusties have had a great program for years and nordic skiing is a big reason why some students choose the college. It would be in the best interest of the college to keep the NCAA team standing. XC skiing is one of the best lifelong sports a person can do and the powers that be in the college are not recognizing this.

As a parent of a high school junior, I would advise against cutting your Nordic NCAA competitive ski team. Most Nordic athletes are academically strong, active in their communities, and attractive to any college. My son is looking at top colleges, and I can tell you with certainty that as a Nordic captain on next year's Edina High School team, he is looking at colleges that will afford him the chance to ski competitively.

Nordic skiing is an important part of our upper midwest identity and heritage! Please retain the Nordic program!!!
