Don't punish these hard working student athletes because our school deems it in the best interest of the college. The best interest of the college is keeping these wonderful people here, and not making them think about transferring to be able to ski elsewhere.

It does not make sense for a school with deep Northern European ties to not have Nordic Skiing in it's best interests.
Sickening that they said that this program doesn't fit into the "future plans of our school." How is that up to them to decide? Really disappointed in this hopefully hastily-made decision and the manner in which they addressed fellow Gustavus athletes.

No one should be denied their passion- Gustavus Volleyball supports the Nordic ski team, I can't imagine what it would be like to have this happen to us. We will do all we can!

I fail to see how removing a sport can benefit the college or students if not for monetary reasons.

Gustavus Nordic Skiing should not be relegated to a club team because for a school in the outdoors and in Minnesota to not have a Nordic Skiing team in the "future plans of the school" is absolutely ridiculous and does not make any sense. It also affects a lot of your students in a very negative way that just brings negative thoughts and feedback back to your institution. Is that really what Gustavus wants to happen?

I cannot believe that this is happening again. I hope that we can have a better outcome than what happened with the St. John's/ St. Ben's ski program

If this isn't about money, what is it about? All of the Nordic Skiiers represent Gustavus with tremendous class and pride, it's hard to imagine what reason they might have for this decision other than for financial purposes. What a shame.
