I helped start a club team in the early 1990's after a great J-term taught by a ski coach from Mora Sweden. That cultural connection was a great experience and raised interest for a hand full of former high school skiers to ski not only the MN Mora Vasaloppet, the Pepsi Challenge, but even a couple of inter college races. I hope the college can remedy this decision and reinstate the team. It is sad to think that such a strong Nordic and Swedish tradition does NOT meet the goals of the college.

Vote with your dollars. If you are on the ski team - transfer. If you are an alum that skis, give no money. If you are a present high school nordic skier, cross Gustavus off your list. Go Saint Olaf!

Eliminating Nordic Skiing at Gustavus will not make a winter like this past one disappear, it will just make it more miserable! We live in a state that should celebrate it resources which includes our winter season. Instead of dissipating a sport that celebrates winter, let’s encourage more people to get out and embrace our winters by participating in a life long sport of Nordic Skiing.

I am a high school skier and I am discussed at how Nordic skiers are treated my school did not announce our third place state title and also did not give us a state send off yet our hockey team got one. please don't ruin your hardest working athletes dreams yes its true Nordic skiing is one of the hardest sports out there.

Minnesota is known for its NCCA competitive college programs, a reputation to which Gustavus has significantly contributed. Reverse this decision

It would be truly a shame to lose this part of the school's identity.

I think you should keep Nordic skiing as a varsity sport. I can tell it means a lot to the players. If it didn't, they wouldn't have gone to these lengths to get others involved. This sport means a lot to me and I know it is very special to the students as well. I hope the decision is changed and the students are allowed to continue skiing at the varsity level.

I attended a Nordic ski clinic at Gustavus. I was impressed with the coach and the campus. I had never been there.

I might ski here next year and cancellation of the team might mean no gustavus for me
