Multiple studies have shown the importance of music education on student’s ability to learn. If you want to improve the educational outcomes of the GSSD students, having a full time music teacher for each school is critical.

There are always more kids in an elementary band than in middle school due to attrition. You will never achieve a middle school or high school band without starting in elementary.

TERRIBLE IDEA! All children have different abilities - NOT EVERYONE physically skilled FOR SPORTS. Music teaches you skills that you will use for the rest of your life.

Personally being in band in elementary school helped me succeed on so many different levels. It was a way to calm down when stressed and excel in something I never imagined I would... my cousins go to Greensburg Salem school district and I would be so heart broken if the music program was removed from elementary schools..

Without a full time elementary band teacher, we could very well loose our Middle School and High School band programs. We are already severely short staffed. Please keep the music program alive at Greensburg Salem. We don't want to be set back any further. "Band is the first thing freshman hear and the last thing seniors hear" from Kayla band student. Please don't silence our schools.

If the band is not started at the elementary level, you will not have one at the middle & high school levels.

Great program. Kids can try any sport at the elementary age, they should be able to try the music program and gain interest to grow theough the middle & high school.

Though no longer a resident of the district, the music program is something I value significantly. Even if students who participate don’t become full-time musicians as adults, music and band in particular teaches and reinforces concepts such as creativity and teamwork. It is essential to start kids early to ensure they get the full benefit of musics instruction.
They need to replace kids love this program
Our children need music in their lives.
