A former Greensburg Salem music student I am now a music teacher in another PA district. I know from current experience that instrumental musicians are planted at the elementary level if students are to thrive in our competitive world. Please help the US to remain culture-rich by funding arts education at ever level.

The music program is very important! Please don’t remove it, haven’t our children lost enough things to look forward to in life? Removing this may just cause more idol time and more troubled children

Being a retired band director of 35 years I think your solution to financial difficulties is atrocious. It's a shame that future students will not have as good of an experience in band because of a cut in personnel. Shame on you cut a principal position or some other useless administrative position.

As a former elementary music teacher and band director, this breaks my heart. I saw how music and being able to join the band changed children's’ lives and gave them focus, purpose, and something to be proud of. I really hope they reconsider their decision.

Keep music alive at GS. My son chose a career in musical theater because of the availability to him of a great music department. Please keep that love for music alive in our students.

My daughter is in the Mt. Pleasant marching band and we face the same struggles. I am an advocate for music programs in all school districts. Music is so enriching to the children in the programs. We need to stand together every where and continue to show support for music programs.

Mr. Tribble has been such an excellent teacher to my daughter. Learning to play the flute has given her a confidence to learn something very difficult and the pride she takes in doing so has been amazing. The enthusiasm that Mr. Tribble has for music and getting children EXCITED about music is very important. How he explained how much a child's brain needs to work in order to play an instrument makes music that much more important for young minds.

The music program at #GSSD has had a tremendous impact on my own child’s school experience. We can’t imagine Greensburg- Salem without it. It is critical that people advocate for music and art in their schools directly with the district, with their state representatives and at the ballot box.

If funding is an issue, why not look at cutting into/out football. When was the last time a band member received a concussion from participation.
