Save Greensburg Salem Music

As as Alumni of GSHS (class of 2002), and while I was enrolled a member of the marching band, concert band, Senior Choir, Select Vocal Ensemble, and the musicals I can say that the music program had a huge impact on my life and the person I am today. Not only do you get the benefits of an expanded mind from the music but also learned valuable life skills that as a parent I know children need badly. These skills include: working with others towards a common goal, time management, commitment, a good work ethic, and a sense of pride in your work. Thank You to Mr. Tribble, Dr. Orange, Mr. Hamill, and Mrs. Palmacino for the impact you've made in my life!

Please keep this tradition in the school. Music is so important, a way for students to showcase their talents. Please keep music in the school♥️

If we continue to dismantle programs like music and art then..what is the point? These programs are fundamental to education.

Please take what ever necessary strops to ensure the future of music in our schools!

I believe that music is a cornerstone and an outlet for all children even elementary students to express themselves and be creative I do think they need to hire a new music instructor for Hutchinson elementary it would be beneficial and awesome for the children to have an outlet to go to to play music and be able to express themselves.My son completely changed when he began playing in the band and I do believe other children should have the same oppurtunity. He also blossomed tremendously when he joined the band.

It would be beyond a disservice to our students and children of the district to cut any opportunities for them to be exposed to and develop an interest for music!!!

Sometimes MUSIC is the only piece of EDUCATION that keeps some students engaged in school. Those in control of this decision should read the overwhelming research that proves how playing an instrument improves the human brain ... the human being. I never thought GS would become "one of those school districts" that makes cuts to the arts.

GS band is one of the best school programs out there. Mr. Tribble has taught my daughter multiple instruments and opened up such a creative side in her. She has gone on to learn others instruments since elementary school. Music has always been & will be a big part of her life, & education. Mr. Tribble is an amazing man.

The music program is essential to those students who are not athletic but possess musical abilities. They should be afforded the opportunity to take part in a school activity that allows them to use and grow their talents.

Music is fundamental to a well-rounded education.

You must provide the musical opportunity to these children. The benefits are too numerous to count. The money is there school board. Distribute it appropriately.

Don't discredit the importance of music as part of a good education!

Music education is so important and was a key part of my life growing up! We need school music!

This is our future that we are talking about.

Keep the music program alive! Music soothes the soul! ♡

I am not a resident of Greensburg but the suburbs in Hempfield Township. My daughters were members of the Band at Harrold Middle School and Hempfield High School. I have to say that the music programs there not only taught music but responsibility and carmraderie. The music programs are essential and therefore a part of education and should be supported.

My taxes go to this district. If you are willing to take away a music program, there better be a sports program cut. It isn’t fair to these children lose this crucial part of their learning.

Music helps mental and social development at all ages. Not keeping this position would be like firing an athletic coach. Except this program develops empathy as well as teamwork.
