After 18 years as a parent in the Grace Brethren organization I can’t even express my disappointment. Not once has an elder or administrator spoken with this team of young men face to face to explain what has happened and why it is happening. Also to allow the community and media to believe it is because we don’t have enough “healthy” players. How about being honest and glorifying God with the truth. We don’t have enough players because the admin and elders haven’t treated the players and their families with any respect or shown that we are valued members of the organization so all the players that weren’t seniors either left or are sitting out so they can play next season when they transfer schools.

What a crime to dismantle this football program. It’s a crime against the children, it’s a crime against the families, there is no valid excuse. Covid wasn’t bad enough and then selfish narrow minded people choose to do something like this. Everyone of you who made this decision needs to leave everything about Grace brethren and go somewhere else.

Marshall Walter was the reason we left Grace 9 years ago when our daughter finished K2. The reason we came back to Grace was because of the amazing testament the parents of a football player gave us. We don’t have any children in the football program, but we know fist hand the positive influence Coach Henderson has had on these boys. Such a shame to hear what is happening.

Please don't dismantle, but please do resign people. Rather watch them than the NFL.

Coach Hendo created a special program that was about more than just the sport. He was teaching our boys to become men, to overcome hardships and learn to persevere. He mentored our boys and helped them to be men of God. With his leadership, Grace became more than a school...it became a family. This is a shameful decision and l only hope and pray that this will be resolved

I’m so confused as to the decision behind this!! We need to be raising up young men in the way they should go:...and thru athletics, especially football, is a great way to reach these young men! We will now be forcing them to go to public schools!

I think it is terrible that they are taking this away from us. So many students here at Grace love football and look forward to playing every day and taking that away from us is horrible.

I think it’s wrong to shut down the football program. I was just about to start playing high school football with Coach Hendo this summer. I’ve been waiting for this since I was 6 years old.

I am sadden on what the school as taken away. Now we are left alone and have to attend non Christian schools . Is this what the school wanted. Why would they do this to us! I stopped attending and told my parents the school doesn’t care. After reading this , the school has lied to us. What is the point of us going to bible class when they can’t be honest with us . Parents please let your kids voice how they feel!

This makes me sad for the boys who care. Don’t punish everyone for the awful few. Football is life to some of these boys and their families.

Grace Brethren football is an amazing program that impacts players in a very positive way, and provides incredible collegiate opportunities for players coming from a small community. It is our hope the leaders will reconsider this decision for our GB players, and dedicated football families!

Grace Brethren and their coaching staff have created an amazing program or youth in Simi Valley. Letting this die would be a terrible disservice to our community.

I am a student and Football player . My dad had showed this to me tonight and I have read these comments and I wanted for parents and other players to be listen hopefully other parents will allow there kids to do the same . We also have a voice . This has broken my heart. Coach Henderson has a gift of god that it is to hard to explain . Many times I have wanted to quit but the Inspiration he has given me about Christ is hard to explain the energy this man carries. Coach Henderson desire wasn’t about football first but god! The fact the the school Deceived us as students does not make me trust the school . What does that say about the community it surrounds it self around . I don’t know who to blame or to be angry at . It feels the schools could careless about us. My brother Nico is sad and depressed. He’s cry’s about this and feels like I feel. Coach Henderson is a godly leader. We had our parents move us from West Valley Christian Church because of the energy Coach Henderson gave and Coach Wetnight. It’s bad enough the pandemic has taken a lot away from me . My grandfather, my uncles and now my Coach have been taken away ! No one has talked to us. We have rights . The school has certain Expectations of us but then they don’t show us the same courtesy. Let’s fight this. Lets get people involved , let’s get the community involved . Parents have your kids speak up too!
