i have seen firsthand how powerful the culture created by the football program at grace is and dismantling it would be a huge mistake.

The one thing my son was looking forward to when school was reopening was the chance to play football. After a year of being locked up he finally got to play and now it got taken away again. What’s the reason? My son doesn’t know he said they told him that coach Henderson’s contract was not signed. My son doesn’t understand why a fantastic leader like Henderson would not be re-signed. What do you tell the kids? They are entitled to know. Especially when they go to a school that is teaching them to be honest and honorable men of God. They are confused and looking for answers. The board, being men of God and role models, need to be transparent and tell us what really is going on. Saying someone is not coming back is not enough. My son learns about god and how to be a Christian teen in our world through the football program. Now that it’s been taken away we have to look elsewhere. A very sad day! We support Coach Henderson!

Do any of the three have a masters in education? What qualifications do the three have to be on a school board?
Has anyone seen any of these three at any football games? It is tragic what they did to the football program and Coach Henderson. Josh brought so many boys and their families to Christ through football. I believe more will be coming out about those three, one in particular, and the public will demand his resignation.

I think what happen is not acceptable . For the school not to be transparent is not acceptable .
I think the entire school should vote on this matter to be fare. This should go out to every parent and let them decide . The attendance of Graces games tells you how much of the community involvement the football program created . I still don’t know the entire story but I know Josh Henderson would of never done this and not only that , he’s going to be unemployed and his wife. The school could of done something about it .
This is very damaging to the school and church .

1 Peter 4:10 - “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." This program led so many kids to Christ, and God rewarded Coach Hendo’s faith and devotion to Christ time and time again. Don’t take away what God is using for His glory. This is how these boys use their gifts to glorify God.

As a church I would assume the goal would be to get kids and families to know God and secondly, to get them into a Christ centered education! The football program was an amazing way to reach families in Simi Valley and the surrounding areas. Praying before and after games and having Godly men as coaches might have been the first and only exposure to the Lord for some of these kids. These young boys look up to the high school players and football coaches. My family only ended up attending Grave school because of Grace football. This decision is a crippling one to so many children.

The football program is one of the best things Grace has going for itself besides education. It gives opportunities for kids, teaches them discipline, and accountability, all while serving Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. The program give kids the chance to place on a larger stage as they transition into college. Every Coach I have ever spoken with knows that Grace produces strong, tough, respectful, Men that follow Christ.

These kids deserve a season. It’s heartbreaking to know they have lost it! It’s very unfortunate! Those responsible should be held accountable, do the right thing and resign.

Having a football program adds considerable value to the school and the students. Please don’t cancel the program.

At this point my son won’t be returning to Grace next year. They had an amazing program and a few selfish folks just ruined it for the community. #TeamHendo

It is sad to see a tool that God used to reach so many not only on the football team but around Southern California be dismantled. This program is known not only for football but also for the outreach and values. I was excited to tell people about the program and that the number 1 priority was bringing the boys to the Lord and doing it all for him. Sad decision by people who do not understand the sport and what the program has done for so many.

This is not about football. I don’t even have any children in the program but I know for a fact Coach Henderson has been able to use football as an avenue to lead kids and parents to Christ. Grace Brethren football is NOT only about football. The football program has been such a blessing to thousands...to tear it apart is HUGE and affects so many more than just the “football families”.
