I have never been so disappointed in my whole life. As a parent, if I feel this way I can’t even imagine how the children feel. My boys have become men through this program and I am forever grateful to Josh Henderson and the entire coaching staff. Grace Brethren deserves better than this selfish decision.

Dear "Anonymous": I am sorry that you are hurting. I am sorry that you feel the need to call names. This is the voice of a community, not a mob. These are not people full of spite, these are people who have been hurt. Many of the people on here also have volunteered their time for years and even decades. You say that we are turning our back on an organization/family who has served us, when clearly these people seem to feel that organization/family has turned its back on our kids. We are showing the courage to identify ourselves and speak publicly about this matter, I encourage you to do the same.

My son went through the Grace baseball program and youth football program. It was an amazing experience for our family.We made lifelong friendships as did our son Kenny. Shutting down the Grace sports program is just wrong on so many levels.

Heartbroken. That sums it up. The impact that this team had on the community was immeasurable. It was the best outreach I have ever seen in a far reaching community. Literally hundreds of families were impacted by the youth and highs school football programs. I have seen entire families and coaches come to Christ through this small program. Maybe we don’t know all of the “whys” but Christians are held to a higher standard. The community will use this to persecute our faith because of HOW this was done and I am deeply saddened. Henderson was a true leader. My junior is utterly lost and my heart hurts for him to navigate this during such an uncertain time.

The elders are naive and hopelessly misguided - at best. Puritanical and elitist at worst. Either way way they are all way off. Coach Henderson has always proclaimed Christ in winning the right way representing Grace Brethren to legions of people who would’ve never heard of the school if not for the program. This must be remedied post haste in order to save the school from disaster.

Even though we moved, this impacts many of our friends and the community of Simi/ Moorpark. In fact, people here in Oregon had even heard of Grace schools because if articles written about the football program- articles that always mention Grace as a Christian school with students who love the Lord! This is a ministry that goes beyond the school itself!

This Holy Week I feel like it’s the people verses Caesar, Pilate and the Jewish Counsel trying to save Grace football and Hendo from being crucified! Jesus please MOVE in this scenario and we ask for Your resurrection power for the football program!!!

That is only going to create more harm to the kids of this community. Grace has such a great name for the football program. I know many kids who came out of that program, who are now stand out citizens. To remove this is to say you don't care about our kids

I couldn’t sit here and watch this one minute longer without speaking up. You’ve all been misinformed. Enough with the sanctimony. You know what disappoints me? This ignorant mob mentality. And the people who know the truth who are just sitting back watching this unfold. You all don’t even know the facts you’re just jumping on the bandwagon of a few spiteful individuals throwing a temper tantrum. The school has taught you better than this. How quick you are to turn your back on an organization/family who has served you for most of your kids lives. PS you are naive to think “The Elders” haven’t always been involved. The Church oversees the school. It always has. These comments are a massive slap in the face to those who have volunteered their time for decades to serve your families and I’m sickened by it.
