The goats of Lake Gaston have become a staple for not only visitors, but for the residents earning the title of Goat Island. The goats have been known to appear on the island as the weather gets warmer in the Gaston area in Pea Hill Creek. Boaters can drop anchor near the island and walk up to the home of the goats and pet them. The goats have become used to frequent visitors and act as if it is just them on the island. Weddings have been performed in the presence of the goats along with barbecues and family reunions. The owner of the island is not the same person who owns the goats and is requesting that the goats stay off the island permanently. As a resident of Lake Gaston, we are standing up for those memories that are made when you take your friends to an island with three happy little goats living on it. We hope that you join us in raising awareness for keeping Goat Island, Goat Island.
I have been staring at the empty island today while trying to figure out how to even begin talking to the owner who really does not seem to care about the memories we all have there. It is honestly so strange to think that these goats might just be gone soon but I am still working on a plan to make sure someone actually listens to us instead of just ignoring the inbox.

Hating on goats...inconceivable. It's not like they were ROUS's in the fire swamp. Bring back the goats.
