I work for the ambulance service and regularly attend this home, the staff are always hard working and the residents really are spoilt by them

We were grateful for a place here when my grandmother could no longer be left alone .

This would be tragedy. This is their home. They are loved and cared for and feel safe there. It needs to be saved.

This is an excellent facility, with one of the best records in the area. This will devistate the vulnerable residents, and the staff who care for them

My mother was a resident here for many years and if it wasnt for the exceptional care she recieved , she would not have had such a wonderful last few years. It is such a shame that RCTCBC feel that they have to bully people into becoming independent at ages of 80+ when they are thriving in a home like this, to end their days.

to close Garth Olwg will be an absolute disgrace. my Mother lived there for the last 18months of her life.she was extremely happy and contented as were we.the staff go out of their way to make the residents lives comfortable and enjoyable .we were always made to feel welcome when we visited and were very happy how contented and settled my Mother was .Christmas last year was her last Christmas and the activities and programme if events kept them busy. my Daughter and I enjoyed the New Years Eve quiz it was very entertaining.
What seriously needs considering is how this move and closure will affect the Residents.what is on offer in Pontypridd is hardly suitable for the Garth Olwg Residents .we were told at the meeting how wonderful the new facilities will be but the people arranging all this haven't a clue as to the needs of the residents.its obvious in my opinion that the site has been earmarked for the Garth Olwg School to be extended .total disgrace these developers have no heart and obviously no relatives who are benefiting from the great home of Garth Olwg

Such a wonderful home. How can RCTCBC expect a generation of 80+ years of age to live indrpendantly in these new independent living facilities....its putting them up to fail. They need to be cared for in an environment that encourages indepence if they want it, not because they have to, to survive. Shame on RCTCBC
