Garth Olwg is a wonderful facility. My mother is so happy there and the care she receives is first class. I cannot find words to express how devastated she would be if it were to close.

This home is already housing vunerable people, it a fantastic home . How can the council say only 58% of these hones are EMPTY,WHEN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF ELDERLY IN HOSPITAL WAITING FOR PLACEMENTS. ??????? IS IT BECAUSE THE COUNCIL IS SHORT OF MONEY IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS SO THEY PICKED ON THEIR ELDERLY RESIDENTENS AND ARE CRUELY UPROOTING THESE POOR PEOPLE TO GRAB THE MONEY BY CLOSING IT. ?????

Lovely place ,convenient for any families who needs a lovely place to live for their elderly parents who are from Churchvillage and surrounding area .,be sad to see it go

The proposal to build a massive care home in Pontypridd and close several homes like Garth Olwg dotted around RCT will be of no benefit to the residents, staff and families. This is clearly a cost cutting exercise which will impact on the quality of life on a vulnerable group of people who have little voice to object. I have visited all of the homes up for closure at some time and they all have a unique homely atmosphere with dedicated staff and a high standard of care.Richard Reast Community Staff Nurse.

I have been to many homes within RCT and Garth Olwg have set care standards to the highest level. Management and staff are fantastic and it’s a lovely feeling when you know your loved one will be treated with the upmost respect and nothing is too much trouble for staff, it’s one of the best homes around. Garth Olwg have an amazing reputation within residential care, a real asset to RCT. Don’t spoil it.
