Save Fullers Road

Well clearly it has already. Both ways all day and on the Pacific Hwy southbound (wanting to turn right). Entry or crossing Fullers Rd is much more difficult now there is constant traffic flow. I would hate to be an L or P plate driver on anydriver who lacks confidence trying to enter or cross that road.

Clearly now that the changes have been in place for a couple of months your contention that traffic confession won't increase had not played out. There is now congestion in both directions plus on the Pacific Hwy southbound almost constantly during the day. That said, I don't believe that traffic lights alleviate the problem either. Perhaps restoring the double lane and installing speed humps/traffic calmers would reduce the speed but get the traffic moving again.

I'm pleased to say I have not heard a single screech of tyres or rear ender smash at Park Avenue since. This particular change is a BIG success.

I don't see how these changes have made it more dangerous to leave your driveway. If anything I would have thought the large painted medium strips would have made it easier/safer. Please explain

Roadworks might be complete But the traffic still speeds . And what about the residents who now have to enter and leave driveways with much greater risk and leas safety? roadworks might be over but the total problem has not been fixed . lDebate is not over .

Why was a speed camera not included as part of the proposal? At the time of the consultation, the NSW Centre for Road Safety was formulating a strategy to improve the site selection criteria for new cameras, to ensure they have a Fullers Road, Chatswood – improving road safety and pedestrian amenity 2 positive effect on road safety. This strategy followed an audit conducted by the NSW Auditor General’s Office. Transport for NSW has responded to this audit recommendation and developed an overarching, evidence-based speed camera strategy. This strategy aims to outline the current speeding problem, community attitudes to speeding and speed enforcement and clearly articulate the benefits of a comprehensive speed camera strategy for speed cameras in NSW. The strategy reassures the community that speed enforcement together with comprehensive public education campaigns and engineering treatments can save lives on our roads. Why are the RMS refusing to install new Speed cameras in NSW ?

Another option would be to install a red-light speed (safety) camera at the traffic light at the corner of Fullers Road and Greville St. If the RMS is still refusing to install speed cameras anywhere in NSW, an alternative is the red-light speed (safety) camera which they have continued installing throughout NSW. I believe this would prevent a lot of accidents and also slow people down around the corner. I live on Fullers Road and my neighbours and I frequently meet out the front of our houses to see the carnage following accidents outside our houses between Millwood Ave and Greville St. I believe a safety camera at Greville St would have prevented an accident occurring at approximately 1:45pm on the 19th October 2013 where I suspect a west-bound car was going through the amber light along Fullers Road from the left lane. A car coming from Ryde wanted to turn right into Greville St and didn't see the west-bound car causing a collision and damage to the traffic light and disruption to traffic. This will not slow traffic it will just make the road more dangerous

Why not try a solution that would address all the issues in one go? Roundabouts, reduces speed, create easy turning into side streets and do not create traffic gridlocks. One lane on Fullers rd means chaos to anyone who uses this road and especially to the residents around it.

I have lived in the area for 27 years, 10 years on Millwood Ave & the remaining on Fullers Road. Reducing the speed limit to 50 has made no change to vehicles and trucks speeding up and down Fullers Road. Changing to one lane with right hand turns will only slow up the already slow lanes. Why not install speed bumps or completely banish all trucks and heavy vehicles only allowing local buses to enter Fullers/Millwood roads ?

No it won't - the road is already one lane down to the river. The most this is going to do is shift the afternoon jam a little up the hill towards Chatswood.

This will cause "road rage" if it goes down to one lane.

i do not want the road narrowed due to difficulty of reversing out especially my elderly parents

A similar effect can be seen when the arteries in one's body narrow. A jam will eventually occur with serious implications.
