Sudbury town centre will die completely if you have to pay for parking
Do the people who make these decisions have any common sense

If the incentive for parking is removed then the market and local shops will not get my custom since the Stane Retail Park at Stanway will present a better option.

It will be a disaster to stop 3 hours free parking

It was obvious from the time that the new ticket machines (with the facility to take payments) were installed that the intention was to begin charging for short term parking. The longer public opposition can hold that date back the better.

Cannot believe this is gaining momentum from Babergh. It will kill the town.

This plan is so short sighted from Babergh. It will kill businesses in the town.

Having recently moved from a town that has implemented/increased its parking fees consistently over the past few years I have seen first hand the devastation it causes to local trades and businesses. Please rethink these plans.

It will kill the trade in the town centre. 1 hour free parking won’t give people enough time to go to the bank, do some shopping & have a coffee. If they have to pay for parking they might as well go into nearby towns where there are more shops. Don’t the council realise that if most of the shops close they won’t get any money from business rates or parking!!

Our town is dying and Babergh want to finish it off. Shame on them. Plus, the Babergh 'consultation' on their website isn't even working! I do hope they don't 'pretend' to have held a consultation.

Our Market Towns need all the help they can get. Free parking encourages people to come to Sudbury, which will in turn support our local shops, which have had such a hard time over the past year. Please keep the free 3 hour parking.
