People will stop coming to the town if they have to pay for parking. I would certainly visit less and go to bury or colchester instead.

Sudbury has already lost its individual shops due to to very high rates, let's not put even more off coming to our beautiful market town. Keep parking as it is xxx

It is ridiculous to charge parking fees in such a small town, with such limited parking.
Visitors and residents of the outer suburbs, must be given all the help possible to encourage them to visit the town. Cost such as parking will discourage visitors and inevitably cause the demise of the smaller shops without the clout of the big multiples, which in itself will further prevent visitors.

Charging for short term parking will kill off the town centre, as it has done in other places that did it. So No to a change in parking fee for Sudbury and Hadleigh

I lived near Colchester and stopped going to shop there due to the extortionate parking fees. The last time I visited there were extremely large numbers of empty shops. Sudbury however has weathered the recesssion well due to a busy town supported by free parking.

We have lived in towns that charge motorists for parking, and it does not work,
I boycotted that town as I am firmly against milking the motorist, the town councillors continually scratched their heads as to why their town struggled, with lack of new shopping, and few shoppers.
Be wise Babergh and stick with your success and listen to those that enjoy our lovely town of Sudbury.
