The quickest way to kill a struggling town is to make it even harder for people to go there, surely you must understand, it is logical, and as simple as that.

It would finish Sudbury completely by introducing parking fees. Nobody would bother using the town at all.

Sudbury is a great town. No one is stinking rich and charging for parking will drive business out of town. Letting huge super chains to coin it in even more. Keep sudbury free keep it alive.

Paying for parking will completely kill off Sudbury. If we have to pay then people would rather do it in bury or Colchester where there is a better selection of shops.

Please keep the free parking. Charges will have an impact on businesses, creating a downturn in custom, and places of interest in the town.

Paid for parking would be yet another nail in the Town Centres coffin. Excessive rent and rates already make it almost impossible independent startups and our town centre ix in damage of becoming a line of charity shops and soulless chains....We need to be helping small businesses not deterring their customers.

Paid for parking in sudbury is absurd its warranted for big towns like colchester and ipswich but if we have to pay for sudbury there no big brands or cinema etc to draw people in

It would be very detrimental to Sudbury businesses to charge for parking.

I live in Boxted, nearer to Colchester than Sudbury but prefer to go to Sudbury to spend my money because I'm not charged for parking. Sudbury has the shops I need with a great market & 3 hours is about the length of time to go to the shops, visit one of many great cafe's for lunch & get what I need of fresh produce on the market. Start charging for parking & I will have to think about the money I'm spending on petrol to travel further to Sudbury!

The (limited period) free parking in Sudbury is a brilliant idea that works really well. It brings 1000s of people into the town every day. To abandon this would be short-sighted, and would be a catalyst to hasten the demise of Sudbury as a shopping destination. Rather than contemplate such lunacy, the council should be thinking of more ways of encouraging people to visit Sudbury, not limiting the existing reasons.
