Please do not close the school. The children enjoy attending the school and they would not appreciate being relocated.

I pay St Charles. Taxes to send my kids to Saint Charles schools. They want to bus my kids to west Chicago! Unacceptable, change it or I'm moving!

There is no reason to close fox ridge that is fact I'm sorry you have a five hundred million elementary schools it's not my fault. Maybe actually build an early childhood center instead of closing down an elementary school?? Have you ever thought about that??

According to Dist 303 records - Fox Ridge school built in 1989 accommodates 504 children, currently has 350. Norton Creek accommodates 600 and currently has 264. Lincoln built in 1928 I believe accommodates 264 and has 268. It would seem to be more sensible to close the school that is oldest, inefficient and probably not up to current standards plus no playgound or parking. It is also over its capacity. The 268 Lincoln students could move to Norton, Munhall or Fox Ridge and you would not need to disrupt 700 children. The taxes we pay for good schools is important but to start saving money by closing a neighborhood school at the cost of our children and our neighborhood is really not acceptable. To lose Fox Ridge from our neighborhood will affect property values which would in turn lower the tax amount the schools receive OR you would probably try to raise the tax rate to cover that. Its the people who pay the taxes for the schools and they should have a voice it what those taxes are going for, We already paid to build Fox Ridge, people moved here to have the school in their neighborhood and they are saying they do NOT want it closed, turned into something else or even sold and they do not want their kids, grandkids transferred to other area schools. I hope you consider another plan and Keep Fox Ridge OPEN as the neighborhood school.

Closing Fox Ridge as an elementary school due to a dip in enrollment seems shortsighted. What happens if the enrollment increases? Boundaries can be moved to “right-size” Davis, Richmond and Lincoln and have all elementary schools at a level that can accommodate future enrollment growth.
In any case, this proposal seems rushed. Why the short timeline to make this decision? The Lincoln and Wasco parents/community fought their closure proposition in 2015 but had four months or so to present their case. Fox Ridge gets less than one month?

To make a decision like this it takes time and effort. Understanding that maybe something needs to be done but to uproot families, teachers etc who locate themselves nearby at great expense the school of choice I wonder if that has been taken into consideration or is it always about the Almighty Dollar! This is moving way too fast. Is there another agenda that isn't being said?

Fox Ridge is an outstanding neighborhood elementary school and big part of the Cambridge area. Please leave it open to serve the children who can walk to their school and be a part of the wonderful community of learners.

Do not consider closing the newer school facilities. Keep focused on not overcrowding the class sizes and downgrading the quality of education. Ease of in/out accessibility without neighborhood congestion should be a determining factor as well. Seems as though the shavings factor does not justify the closure of Fox Ridge.

Do not break up families, do not jepardize home values and do not place children in old schools. Close old schools first if you must close any schools.

I went to Fox Ridge elementary school, and am now studying elementary and special education. Fox Ridge is a great elementary school and it cannot close!! I have always wanted the opportunity to come back and teach at my favorite elementary school.

We recently moved to St. Charles in June 2017. Part of the reason we moved is because of the school district, particularly Fox Ridge. We hope that Fox Ridge does not close as an elementary school.

I don't feel this is a smart move. There have to be other alternatives that will be more advantageous. Please reconsider this plan.
