Loved this dog run, especially in the absence of any other fenced in dog park in this very dog-friendly neighborhood.

We need as many places as possible for our dogs to run freely. Happier dogs means happier neighborhood!

Would love to see the dog run formalized but it takes a lot more than a petition. The Parks Department has pretty rigid dog run requirements that range from design (mostly for drainage and sanitation) to management responsibility (actually keeping it clean and mowed). If we're serious, someone needs to contact Commissioner Maher's office and find out the requirements.

My dog and I were using the dog run almost daily for a good five years. Not only is it an ideal, safe spot for her, but it's also an opportunity for her to meet and carouse with other dogs in the neighborhood. It's the perfect size to throw a ball in, as well as playing around with the pup. I'd be happy to join any community maintenance to make sure the space is well maintained.

There already aren’t enough dog runs in the area. This is a must keep!

This dedicated dog run is the only fenced in spot in the area, and it's a much needed space for local dogs and dog parents alike! Please bring back our dog run and let us prove that we can come together as a community to maintain this space!

Such a useful and needed community space! And it was activating an unused part of the park.

Fully support this dedicated dog space! It’s so difficult to rely solely on off leash hours before 9am and after 9am in ft Greene park. This is an important space for neighborhood docs.

Having a 6 month old puppy with lots of energy, but still unable to go off-leash in the park, the fenced in area on Claremont has been a helpful resource, and builder of community among new dog owners in the area!

Given the rise in dog adoptions during the COVID pandemic, this space is vital for many new (and experienced) dog owners to properly train their dogs unleash. This is an important skill needed for all dogs in such a busy metropolitan area and crucial for maintaining Fort Greene's reputation as a safe and friendly neighborhood with many happy, healthy, and well trained canine residents. Dog owners in this area are VERY responsible - for their own dogs as well as others. Maintenance of the space will not be an issue.
