I am signing this petition as pennington tea rooms are a vital part of the community. They are there volounteraliy to serve young and old alike. They are fantastic.

The entire park benefits from this facility whether you use it or not, and many do. The park is cleaner, people are proud of it and its a great place for the elderly to enjoy a brew in the fresh air with friends.

The "Deal" wants local communities to help run and fund there own initiatives. So why on earth would the local council do this. Isn't this an example of what we should have in all our local areas and should be praised and used as an example. I'm just seriously disappointed.

The site lay empty and derelict for so many years until hard working volunteers turned it around. This decision is a disgrace, budget pressures or not! Cashing in on the work done by a community group seems unscrupulous.

This is terrible mums with toddles use this as a meeting place great place for the kids to play then have a coffee.

excellently run cafe, we had a really fun time doing pumpkin carving, with donkey rides and play slide. My 5 grandchildren had a fantastic time. The youngest even said on the way home "that was the best day ever Grandad". It doesn't get much better than that

The volunteers at the Tea Rooms have worked so hard to provide the community with so much, Wigan Council should get their act together, and leave well alone, when something is working as well as this.

I find it disgusting that the volunteers of Pennington are being turfed out so that Wigan council can bleed the folk of Leigh dry yet again. My kids love going there not just for their drinks and sandwiches but for the pleasant appreciation that they have for the hard working people who run it. It's a fantastic mix of probably 3/4 generations enjoying the local surroundings with great conversation.
