Can't believe wigan council can do this to the community. There's nothing in Leigh, it's a horrible, dismal place and things like this bring some spirit to the community, ran by hard working, civilised people.

This is so sad I'd hate to see this turn into an expensive money making trap, unless the volunteers no longer want to run it , it should remain the treasure it is

WMBC. If you go ahead with closing the cafe for your own gains. The message it sends out to all would be volunteers is "Dont bother" because the council will let you build up a thriving community business, Then force it from you without a second thought. I am a Leyther born n bred. Paid my dues all my life to the council as did my parents and their parents before. What you are doing is killing the community spirit that you wax lyrical so often of supporting. If you do this you are a disgrace to your town.

I cannot believe Wigan Council are doing this. Ridiculous. You are supposed to serve your comminity not hinder it. This is a great cafe, bringing interest back to the park with great food, service and events. You should be grateful for this input from volunteers and support it, not trample all over it in this way. Total disgrace.

These people have worked hard to turn this park are, which is more than can be said for the greedy gits at Wigan. You could learn a lot their selfless hard work, you should be ashamed of yourselves the lot of you!

Use the cafe and park all the time with my kids. Hardly ever used to go before it was transformed by the volunteers. Council need to make clear what is going on.
