I am totally disgusted that Wigan can try and trade on the hard work of all the people whom have run the cafe, for no pay.

Wigan Council, allow the volunteers to continue to run the community cafe. Do the right thing. Pennington Park is a better place due to the lovely volunteers.

This a vital resource.....we spent our summer in this park due to the cafe and we often start our weekend there...Prior to finding this gem we hadn't spent any time in Leigh despite being local to it. A closure would be so short sighted. A beautifully maintained park made all the better for being able to have a brew in safe proximity to my children playing in the cafe's cars and reading their vintage children's annuals. Scrummy cakes, friendly staff, just such a beautifully presented vintage set up. I've bought plants there, we enjoyed records being played at fun days, my children look forward to their Circus lunchboxes and homemade cupcakes. We have brought family and friends over from North Manchester to see it as a little oasis. It reminded my parents of the parks of yesteryear due to it's community spirit.

After all the hard work that they have put in to make such a fantastic place from nothing and doing so much for the community they should be allowed to stay

We regular use this lovely local park & tearoom. It is only since the volunteers that have become heavily involved with transforming this park have we started to visit it regularly. They have worked so hard to bring a sense of community back that I can't understand the decision Wigan Council has made.

This is such a crucially important place for the community. The people who run it give it soul and they genuinely care. They have worked so very very hard and should not have it taken from them! !

Outrageous! Wigan Council have let a group of hardworking, dedicated volunteers establish this little gem of a cafe and now want them out so that they can reap the benefits of an established business? I don't think so!
