I beg the council to be considerate of the work put in by the Pennington Tea Rooms team. To close the team room and put the premises put to tender will further rip the heart from our town. The park has seen a massive increase in visitors all because of the warm welcome, great service and food, cheerful atmosphere and inclusivity of the tearoom. The park is for the people, not for the profit of the council. Leave well alone.

A fabulous addition to the park. Seems like the council are trying to make money out of something they didn't want to be bothered with - disgraceful!

Love this place. Cannot understand why the council don't want to support them.

The park cafe has been created by the Friends group and shows no sign of stopping or struggling so this decision makes no sense. The community should be left alone to run their asset. No actually, they should be actively SUPPORTED to run their asset! But certainly not put out on their ear for no reason without any consultation. Shameful.

Shocked and disgusted at Wigan Council's underhanded way they can treat the volunteers that provide such a great service to the long established park and its wider community.

This place is run by lovely people who have arranged so many fun family days. The afternoon tea is amazing. Please don't close this place down. It really makes visiting the park a lovely day out

FHOP have made this tea room what it is, they have worked so hard to set it up and build it up. For the council to give them 6 months notice and put it out to tender is shocking!! It is clear that money is the main factor here or rather love of money!! This tea room should remain as it is, as the people of Leigh love it. This decision has made many many people very upset & angry and I would ask that you review this ludicrous situation as soon as possible!(

This is a fabulous community place. The volunteers do a fantastic job in making everyone feel welcome, no matter what age.

Please think about who wants the Tea Rooms, and how well their needs have been managed to date. There isn't a need for any change, or any complications, and any upset. Please see the happiness it's created from the volunteers to to customers and do something else at Lilford, they'd love a tea room.

Shame on you Wigan council to let a group of volunteers do all the hard work and now you want to take it away from them.
