If some of the higher paid executives at wigan council put a little bit of time into seeing the benifits of the hard working volenteers time and how the park has improved due to these people they might understand how important the tea Romsey are.

So sad to hear that a group of volunteers that have made such a success and brought for the first time in a very long time the community of Leigh together in good spirits and made a difference in the outlook to many of us that they can no longer continue???

What an amazing little place, run by volunteers for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Wigan Council wants to rip the heart out of everything and fill it full of houses! Greed and profit springs to mind.

What sad news. The hard working volunteers have transformed the park through hard work and dedication.Trust the council to let someone else do all the hard work then just move in and snatch a successful enterprise for themselves

This cafe has been a catalyst for so much that is good in the life of Pennington Park. Shouldn't we be supporting and celebrating the work of these volunteers who have brought a community together in so many ways. Why change something that us so successful?

Pennington park has become a vital part of bringing the community together in a way that is reminiscent of the old Leigh. It is a credit to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to achieve this.

This is very sad news. This is more than tea room and good for community spirits. The volunteers go to a lot of trouble putting events on and keeping the park an attraction.

Disgraceful!!! This tearooms is a perfect example of a dedicated community working together, it`s more than just cups of tea and a slice of cake. There is a huge amount of hardwork, pride and self respect gone into what was until recently a derelict and grotty building. I suggest the council spend a day at the cafe to see for themselves how this little gem has transformed the park and community it serves. In the summer it is buzzing with people all day long, this place brings people together, the old and the young. SAVE FOPHP Cafe!!!
All this is is greed by WMBC
