Pennington Tea rooms have brought so many people into the Park and can only be considered after 2 years of operation as a huge success. They support the lonely at Christmas, disabled children, the bereaved and many more. I do not understand how as part of the Wigan Deal they are not being supported and instead it appears Wigan is favouring a business / commercial approach, testing the market instead of supporting volunteers.

Save this little gem, they have given life back into template with events and a cosy little place to stop and watch the world go by.

This should stay being run by the volunteers for the community

The best thing to happen to Pennington Park in years! Has brought a new life to the park and opened it up for the wider community (all ages!) to come together and use the park in harmony. A terrible shame for caring, enthusiastic volunteers to loose the opportunity to continue their fantastic hard work!

please keep this lovely place in the hands of those that haven given so much time, love and care to make this place what it is. if you strip away these things then you're undoing the stitches that hold the fabric of a community together. It's not to late to hold your hands up and say you made a mistake Wigan, this would be a real loss to a lot of people

These hard working local people have done an amazing job of getting the park back as a local amenity what gives Wigan the right to interfere.

The volunteers who run this tea room are the heart and soul of this park and have worked hard to provide this facility for the community. Its a disgrace that the Council are now 'cashing in' on the hard work of these fantastic volunteers.

Seems ridiculous the council are focusing on something that does not cost them money, no savings needed here

This is ridiculous. I'm sure Wigan Council will find a way to justify this. Volunteers from Leigh worked so desperately hard to get this community cafe up and running.

It's disgraceful that after all the hard work of volunteers, Wigan Council are now going to take advantage of the success achieved, and put the cafe out to tender. It's truly shameful of the Council
Hope this stops the closure!
