Why is the City offering them public land for sweetheart recant And allow them to lease it? Why is this considered fair use when all Newark residents should be allowed to use the land? Also we have great need why not give it to Habitat for Humany to benefit other Newarkers who have need….or other way why give it to Newark Charter?

I do not approve of this project. It is an intrusion on residential properties and will harm the quality of those residents’ lives. There was also not enough legal notice of the proposal.

Please preserve our park and the nature it supports. Our residents deserve to use and enjoy the entire park and all that it offers. This is no placefor NCS to build ball fields.

Newark Charter School should be responsible and purchase their own land for their needs. Newark Charter's original focus was supposed to be on academics and not sports. I opposed their decision to include football as a sport, a sport that is known to cause serious brain trauma over time regardless of equipment. They could have used the existing field at their school for this proposed purpose instead of fundraising for money for the current football field. In my humble opinion, their priorities are not correct in this situation.

It’s really disappointing to find the city is working with a special interests to steal public lands from residents.

I literally live at the proposed site of the 3 rd base dugout which will replace a serene copse of Osage orange trees where a herd of deer have been my neighbors for over 20 years. The dugout will be 100 feet from my backyard. The bright stadium lights and 2 PA systems will do nothing to enhance the tranquility for the children that live in the children’s hospice/hospital that is a mere 400 feet away. Please sign!

This is nearly 6 acres of precious woodland that provides an important environmental and noise shield to nearby I-95 and is a haven for humans and wildlife. Newark Charter already has perfectly suitable fields for softball here and baseball at Leroy Hill Park. They could put (far less) money into improving those if they felt the need.

I am signing this petition due to many concerns, specifically noise and traffic concerns near residential homes, as well as disturbance to the park.

We need to keep this park. Newark Charter can collaborate with UD to use space. This collaboration could instill a focus of higher education to the students attending Newark Charter.
No on this!
