SAVE THE DARKROOMS! They are viable to keeping the historic process alive and help students to understand photography better. They have to actually slow down and think about the picture they are about to take. Thus making the student actually use the knowledge they are learning in class on a first hand basis.

This will be a sad day if this happens. These facilities, the photography faculty, and the people at Photoland are first rate. By gutting the arts, Evergreen is losing an integral part of its heart and soul.

The darkrooms are an incredibly generative, creative, collaborative and ESSENTIAL space of learning and growth. Please reconsider this shutdown!

I am a graduate from Evergreen and very concerned about the direction the school is taking!

I loved learning about photography at Evergreen and hope to use The developing and printing facilities when I return to Olympia after grad school.

Robbing the school of it's creative labs isn't going to help your plumetimg tuition rates, keep our programs protected, invest in the students you have! They came here for rounded liberal arts education that you are choosing to rob them of to save your own pocket lining.

This is why I'm in process to attend evergreen. Dont shut this down!

Eliminating film photography does not teach photography, it encourages snapshots.

Please keep the photoland color darkroom open for the students & community members to utilize. It’s important to keep this type of space available for future generations to be able to experience such a unique art form firsthand. We are so quick to embrace the new technology and get rid of the old. But there are situations that warrant keeping the old for learning purposes. This is one of those situations. The darkroom is very special to so many including my daughter who chose Evergreen because of the amazing photography program. Please reconsider your decision and keep it open. Thanks in advance for your time and your consideration.

I'm really confused on why all of these arts programs or tools for arts programs are being cut when there's a large need and interest in them.

Photoland is used by so so many folks! Don't shut it down!

Please save the film photography programs and resources. This department is vital to the Evergreen arts community. The color darkroom is a unique and important resource of the school. The photography department is an attraction to Evergreen's future students, especially being that there are so few color darkrooms left in college. These facilities are vital to maintain a thriving arts community. Please save the film photography department.

This dark room is amazing and needs to stay open!!

The photo facilities at The Evergreen State College are among the best in the nation, and have been for years. I personally have toured the facilities for other, more well known colleges and they, hands down, do not compare. Photoland is an absolute gem, and should be preserved for what it is - a place to study all forms of photography. From traditional to modern digital techniques, Photoland has it all, and it should stay that way for years to come for students and the greater community at large.

Shut the sciences down. Evergreen is only alternative and inginuitive because of our art and liberal arts practices!!!

So so sorry this is happening but I HOPE THIS CAN SAVE SUCH AN ACCESSABLE SPACE ⭐️
