The city has officially confirmed the budget allocation for the full concrete renovation of the Ewa Beach skatepark. We are moving into the design phase now and will monitor the procurement process to ensure the transition from asphalt to concrete stays on track.

Ewa beach skatepark, built in 1991 out of the same concrete molds as waianae skatepark, but instead of a sturdy concrete surface, its been left with a deteriorated asphalt surface. Virtually unskateable. We the people would like to work with the community and state to renovate ewa beach skatepark. For the past 15 years the skateboarding community of Ewa beach have been forced to ride in areas that are unsafe to skateboard. With the incredible growth of Ewa Beach , with a significant amount people moving into the neighborhood being families. We feel that rebuilding a skatepark will put the kids in a safer environment to enjoy a very popular sport for the ever growing community.

I have submitted a formal request for a site assessment to the Department of Parks and Recreation. Our current focus is gathering the technical specifications needed to prove the asphalt surface is beyond repair.

Let's give the kids some place to go to where they can be safe in their own neighborhood. Because of the conditions of the skate park these kids travel to Kapolei, Pearl City even all the way to Kaneohe and Hawaii Kai. This is a no-brainer!

As a Hawaiian that graduated from James Campbell High School, this skatepark not only helped me stay out of trouble, it allowed me to be socialize with my local neighborhood. Please preserve this skatepark, as it continues to draw the community closer together while promoting an active lifestyle.

I own a town house literally directly behind this park. When we lived there we used this park several times a week. My kids learned to ride there bikes and skate boards here. We would be more than happy to help with renovations.

I've lived in ewa all my teen years, and for some reason they spent money to repave the tennis courts (something that is barely used) instead of giving the kids somewhere to play in a safe controlled environment, not jumping fences and skating on private property

I think my generation was the last and biggest group to enjoy the parks. We got to skate with the states best riders at this park! from lazy bones best trick demo to actual skate contest. I bet jus fixing the ground would bring back choke people

I grew up skating this park, landed my first kickflip there. I would love to see the park redone so the keiki can have a safe place to skateboard. The skate community is tight nit and everyone accepts eachother and looks out for one another
