El Segundo is as high in Property Crime as the City of Compton! They have 5 times the crime and 6 times our population. That means we have more property crime for every 10,000 people than they do.
How are we going to be the Mayberry of LA that we have all grown to know and love if our police officers are continuously laid off and their pay is cut? Come out to the next City Council meeting on July 7th and please sign this petition.

I grew up in ES and have lived here for over 30 years. Raising my family here now. This town was once the best small, family and SAFE towns in all of LA county. However, now it is not. Sad to say, but if things don't change I will choose to move and raise my children somewhere safer. We need the police prescence that this town once had. Thank you.
Public safety is NOT an areas where cuts should be made! We have wonderful officers (and firefighters and emts) who do an amazing job of keeping our town safe. Get rid of them and watch this town go down the tubes. Crime will go up and property values will go down.
Why would you cut the budget for the police when we have more crime then we ever have had. What happen to the council that was very strong on our police that they stood up for them. I grew up in this town and I felt safer then I do now. You need to higher more cops then less.
Ridiculous! My son got held up at gunpoint in front of our house on Eucalyptus Dr in November and we are cutting police officers?!! The word has gotten out to the wrong people and the crime is going to increase. We are being targeted. Scary.
Not only do these cuts make the job harder to do and keep this city and its residents safe, but they also lower the moral of our officers.

These officers took 'cuts' when the City needed them to do so, they should not be asked to do so, again. Especially, when the economy is better.
