It's a lovely centre, such a shame to take it down and sell for ready cash! The future is so important for people, money does not buy happiness!!

Absolutely disgraceful, one important question would be is it the RA's land to sell and also where do they propose the children play, in the road or on the Common (although nothing has happened recently there has been a few sexually orientated exposures/attacks on young girls on the common).
Longmead is of no use to the community at this end of Epsom and the wells centre is the focal point for people of this community when it comes to celebrations or parties.
This is just a land grab so they can build more houses and to make money, which they can then waste on less important things for the whole of Epsom and not the community they are taking from.
This needs to be stopped immediately and a proper consultation should take place so the detrimental effect it will have on the surrounding community is shown and if the RA still intends to go ahead it should then be fought by all means necessary.

I am strongly opposed to the idea o closing the Wells COMMUNITY centre....this is the heart of the wells. Once these valuable resources are gone we never get them back. Think people not money. Really disappointed with RA underhand behaviour.

The Wells Centre is essential to the community in this area. Stop this short-sighted thinking and keep it open. Longmead is NOT local.

It may be productive to investigate further sources of income such as renting the rooms to add activities (such as Yoga and Pilates) that would be of interest to the community and outsiders. A little investigation and initiative could go a long way here!

I ran IT Courses at the Wells for some three years. Very popular and well attended. I know numerous other events take place at the venue....a very worthwhile contribution to the local population. On behalf of both staff and clientele.....please keep it open.

This centre will be sorely missed by my parents, who attend it every week. It is invaluable for their health and well being. Please save The Wells.

Closure of this warm friendly community asset would be a travesty. The over 55 age group have there club there every day, they have a nursery facility attached and they cater for some local learning disability clients who use the hair dresser who attends. This is also an income generating concern for the council who can rent out the building for functions. All that is needed to generate more income is a small investment in publicity.

The Wells centre provides an essential service to both the retirement club and the community at large. Removing the facility to another centre that is already oversubscribed and in a worst physically state than The Wells centre makes no sense. The Wells could with a little bit of marketing / promotion be made even more successful. As the information say "The Wells Centre is a vibrant multi-purpose community venue serving the south of the Borough. The centre exists to improve the quality of life for local people by offering a range of educational, recreational, cultural and social opportunities. It is a place where people from a wide range of background come to socialise, learn and enjoy." Maybe the councillors should learn how to get the most of their assets for the benefit of the communities, rather than decide to allow people and communities to become isolated and, unable to leave their homes and unable to access the services to which they are entitled.
