This centre is such a valuable resource for the local community, especially for those without transport or mobility for a part of Epsom poorly serviced in terms of other community facilities

With a centre that caters for all, and used so much, it is beyond belief that it should even be considered for closure when so much money is wasted in other areas.

We must never forget how much this building does and means to a community. Some of the people who use it will become isolated from contact with others if it is taken away.

How many things are going to be taken for our community. The wells centre is a lifeline for many people. We have already lost our shops and post office which was a great meeting place for people and somewhere you could always find someone to chat to and pass the time of day.

The Wells is quite an isolated community, let's be charitable to some of our own people for a change.

In these times of "austerity" and now "war" local councillors should think long and hard about closing a centre that supports the needs of an entire community. If they truly have the interests of their local constituents at heart they need to exhaust all other options for balancing their books before even considering this one.

It seems strange that services to the community are to be cut when there is plenty of proof that their provision saves money.

The wells centre should be kept as a community resource. Even though I live behind the wells centre and only occasionally visit it, I am prepared to tolerate the occasional noise from events there because I recognise the high value that the community places on this centre. I support the petition even though am not a conservative. We need a more thorough and professional assessment of how the council should meet its budget. Selling off community resources is not the way forward. The council should become more efficient rather than cut community services. For example, most of us have had to pay for our own travel to work and if we prefer private transport we pay for that. Running a mayoral car is wasteful and frivolous. The RA counsellors need to listen to the people they serve and present other options for savings, starting with a fresh look at how they run things and their allowances. Selling off assets is a short term solution with long term losses. They should not blame central government but unite instead on principles of public service and find a better solution for everyone's sake

Why doesn,t the C.E.O.of E.&E.B.C.andS.C.C. take a pay cut if they can not balance the books and earn their inflated salaries?
