The Wells was a very important part of my mother's life, something to look forward to once a week where she knew she would be met with kindness, a good lunch shared with others and entertainment afterwards. This really was the highlight of mum's week. Please keep this valuable centre open.

My mother used to go there every Friday for lunch and post lunch entertainment.
it was super for her to get out of her retirement bungalow and enabled her to meet new friends as well as providing her with an excellent lunch.
It will be a great shame to loose the Wells. It is not the same going to the Longmead Centre.
Surely it would not cost much extra on our council tax to keep such a valuable centre open.

I have been working at The Wells Centre, for the last four years as an entertainer, and of all the many venues I perform in have found the staff and facilities at The Wells Centre, to be some of the best I have experienced. A wonderful community has been built up over the years and the facilities and support that people have there will be sorely missed, if it should close down.

I grew up on the wells and this community centre has been loved and used by so many people, and continues to be a thriving centre improving the quality of life for MANY people. I am shocked to hear that there are plans to close something that is used by so many different parts of the community.

I am disappointed that Mr. Richards has to voice his opinion in such a rude manner. Some of his comments are inaccurate. I attended the meeting held by RA Concillor Neil Dallen and was appalled at the lack of details to questions asked nad the refusal to grant more time for consultation. It is not as simple as forming a management committee to run the centre, if it were that would have already been done - there are many residents willing to 'step up to the plate' to save the centre. Using the site for housing is an obvious agenda and the so called 'consultation' process has been rushed and far from open.

I have been lucky enough to perform on numerous occasions for the older members of The Wells Centre over the last ten or so years.
In my opinion it is a vital, and unique, facility for the local residents, providing a service which cannot be matched if they were required to travel further afield.
Please save this centre from closure.
