The Wells Centre is an important part of our community and helps many who might not be able to make it easily into town.

To close this centre would leave a lot of elderly vulnerable people at risk.

My mother used the Centre for many years and it greatly enhanced her quality of life ! My mother in law now lives with us after moving down from Yorkshire . The centre has enabled her to make new friends and has had a positive effect on her life ! Epsom and Ewell have one of the highest populations of people of retirement age and cutting services would have a detrimental effect on peoples lives. PS not just the elderly !!!

Had lived on the wells for 22 years and still have friends there. The wells social centre is a focal point for the community from young to old. It would be such a loss.

The centre is used for so much more than just services for the elderly - it is the heart of our community in the middle of beautiful Epsom Common, Why destroy it and bring more people into the estate and reduce the facilities and make it into another heartless collection of houses.

This centre is a lifeline for so many elderly people, not just residents of the Wells Estate and it is often the only chance they have to socialise.

Only a Tory or a Residents Associate would even consider such a senseless proposal. This is a well used facility in one of the most remote parts of the Borough providing valuable services for all age groups. Epsom & Ewell Borough is not without the wherewithal to support such a facility but will probably axe it just out of Tory and Residents Association political dogma.

I think its totally wrong in wanting to demolish the Wells centre it has and will always be a part of the community. Before the new building was built I went to brownies and guides there had parties there and played in the park before they got rid of it . So bulid your houses else where do not demolish the buliding as the community use it. If you do you will be taking a part of history away. Thank you Paula Bean

We understand the need for housing but not at the cost of an entire community when there are empty properties in the area. It seems easier to destroy a community rather than get the housing associations to sort out their properties. We implore you not to go ahead with a closure that will affect all ages in our community now and in the years to come. Please review your decision.

Disgraceful, the elderly population is increasing ..... TWATS, but support that monstrosity of The Epsom station development.

This would be a dreadful thing to do. I work with the elderly and know just how much it means to many of the people who attend. For some of them this is the only opportunity for them to have contact with other people. We'll all be old one day and centres like this are a lifeline. Please don't close it down. It's too important to the whole community

Unbelievable that they'd even contemplate its closure!

I can't believe that it's come to this, EEBC are useless. This is an important community building & it needs to stay that way.
