To connect Hwy. 6 with 30 through Emerald Forest would ruin a beautiful neighborhood and destroy property values. All neighborhoods in the area will also be negatively affected.

With each new citizen opposed re-zoning, it' seems we have turned the comprehensive plan promise of "neighborhood integrity " into a cruel joke!

Please consider the alternative routes as mentioned. This would destroy Emerald Forest Subdivision/Neighborhood Integrity!

I hope that the city planners will not plan for the extension of FM2818 through Emerald Forest. Please consider this established neighborhood!

Converting Emerald Pkwy. into an expansion and extension of FM 2818 is NOT compatible with this city's commitment to having a citizen-friendly city. Use the Fitch/Hwy. 40 road for this purpose. I strongly oppose the plan to destroy Emerald Parkway and Emerald Forest and will campaign strenuously against all city council members who support it. Thank you for listening.

The proposed development is irresponsible especially given less damaging alternatives.

I am opposed to the 2818 project. It goes against the nice life style that we were expecting and the reason for selecting Emerald Forest in College Station.

I oppose the 2818 Project based on the division of the neighborhood that is well established and a treasured neighborhood for College Station.

Destroying and dividing the family-friendly, neighbor-friendly Emerald Forest neighborhood in order to put in an arbitrarily placed south loop is an thoughtless action of our city and county leaders. The proposed road was apparently planned while looking at an overall map of the county where 2818 lies pretty much directly between two roads that already connect to HWY 30, with no consideration for the surrounding properties. The proposed road expansion would effectively divide the current neighborhood in half, separating over 200 families from their access to the neighborhood park, pool and clubhouse. Furthermore, It is both economically and socially irresponsible to continue with this plan, as it will ruin the current property values of this neighborhood (thus decreasing the amount of property tax we pay - which have increased dramatically this past year), ruin one of the most beautiful and diverse CS family neighborhoods, and eliminate the solid base of parental support that the local schools currently receive, as current Emerald Forest residents move from this area to find another family-friendly area. The Bird Pond Road expansion that has also been proposed would not encounter these issues and is a much more feasible and plausible plan.

Emerald Forest is a well established subdivision. Alternate routes to connect to Hwy 30 should be considered.

We do not want any expansion or extension of Emerald Parkway whatsoever! We suggest other alternatives to connect to Hwy 30 mentioned by MPO officials at your meetings. One such alternative would be the Rock Prairie Rd/ Bird Pond Rd extension to Hwy 30. This route follows an existing roadway and will accomplish your goals with less effort, expense, and without disturbing and devastating existing homes. We also suggest a larger 2818 loop around BCS. The larger 2818 loop would go south along Wellborn (to become 2818/Wellborn) and would then go east along William Fitch (to become 2818/William Fitch).

I live in in Emerald Forest and am shocked that we are even talking about this as a possibility. Talk about dividing a community... we cannot let this happen for any established, quiet neighborhood. MB

This would be horrible for the people who live in this subdivision.

Ridiculous idea, our town governments are supposed to be all about community and family life not convenience

2818 SHOULD NOT BE EXPANDED through a residential neighborhood! Period!

I have lived in Atlanta, Denver, and Tampa and have witnessed that strong, intact neighborhoods add extreme value to growing cities and increase in value. Neighborhoods such as EF make College Station more attractive. Routing a major road through it would undermine the value of EF and the desirability of College Station.
